TEAMS: Wisconsin Badgers

It wasn't pretty for the last 8 minutes of the second half but UW pulled out another Big Ten road win at Minnesota. UW went 8 minutes and 49 seconds in the 2nd half and OT without scoring. How many perrenial top-20 programs consistently have prolonged scoring droughts like the Badgers? I'm guessing just them. I've given up on ever being able to defend UW's style of play to any other fan but they got the win and that's all that matters these days. Fan Reaction If you want to read, or join in, on a mostly civil discussion of the game, check out Eric's 10 Things thread at Buckyville.  Needless to say Tubby Smith doesn't impress a lot of Badger fans with his coaching skills.  Minnesota fans seem to like him but mediocrity is a step up for them. Blogger Reaction Phil notes in his game recap at B5Q that UW had a 6-minute FG drought in the first half.  Add that to the cold freeze at the end of regulation and UW went almost 15 minutes without scoring a FG. ...

Gophers continue tourney push vs. Wisconsin

For a change, Wisconsin is playing better on the road in the Big Ten than it is at home. The No. 21 Badgers could be in for a stiff test as they try to win four straight on the road for the first time in four years while looking to avoid a third consecutive loss at Minnesota on Thursday night. Normally one of the toughest teams in the country to beat at home, Wisconsin (18-6, 7...

Wisconsin Badgers still in the hunt for a Big Ten Title

A Bo Ryan-led Wisconsin Badgers squad will rarely impress you with pure talent, but that doesn’t mean they can’t win. The Badgers run one of the least sexy offenses in the country and play such fundamental defense that they almost lull opposing teams to sleep. This season has been no different with the #22 Badgers checking in at 19-6 and 8-4 in the Big Ten Conference...

Badgers put away pesky Gophers in OT

Jordan Taylor scored 27 points for his first college win in his home state, and No. 21 Wisconsin gutted out a 68-61 overtime victory at Minnesota on Thursday night. The Badgers (19-6, 8-4 Big Ten) failed to score over the last 7 1/2-plus minutes of the second half while the Gophers (17-8, 5-7) dug out of a 13-point hole. But that dogged Wisconsin defense came back in overtime, even...

Recap: A Barnyard Boost

No.21 Wisconsin was held scoreless for the final 7:41 of regulation, but Jordan Taylor came to the rescue. His defense helped force overtime and five of his game-high 27 points helped ice the game, as the Badgers survive a late Gophers charge to win 68-61 Thursday night.

One More Homecoming

His numbers are down compared to last year, but senior guard Jordan Taylor doesn't care as long as Wisconsin is winning. With the Badgers two games out of first place heading into tonight's matchup with Minnesota, all Taylor cares about is getting his first win is his own backyard.
