This is exactly what Michigan was hoping for when John Beilein was hired as coach in 2007. Over the last six seasons, the Wolverines have built a program that can again challenge for a national championship. After an 81-66 victory over West Virginia on Saturday night, Michigan is 11-0 and sitting at No. 2 in the AP poll - its highest spot since the Fab Five era. Michigan's calling card so far has been its offense, which has been precise, efficient and incredibly hard to defend. The Wolverines have perhaps the nation's best point guard in Trey Burke, and he has plenty of scoring threats around him whenever the ball is in his hands.

(Photo: Dustin Johnston) All that was known at the time was that Horford had injured the same knee he twisted earlier this season. On Wednesday...

Competiveness, health fuel Trey Burke

This is a fact that was obviously on display in Brooklyn, as he (along with Tim Hardaway Jr.) essentially willed Michigan to victory over West Virginia despite some defensive lapses from Michigan and timely 3-point shooting from the Mountaineers. Trey Burke hates to lose so much that he scored 27 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out eight assists and...

Michigan to Wear Special Unis/Helmets for the Outback Bowl

Here they are. Can't say I love the unis. Actually not at all. Maize numbers are an interesting choice. Looks to me like the maize's don't all match up. I've been waiting for the day when Michigan would attempt a matte helmet. It's not bad. At least the maize isn't chromey like MSU's green or OSU's red when they played us. #sigh...
