Florida guard Kenny Boynton did not practice on Monday, but is still expected to play on Thursday against BYU. Boynton lit up the Cougars in last year’s meeting in the NCAA Tournament and he’s expecting to draw the assignment of guarding do-it-all scorer Jimmer Fredette.
“We fully expect him to play,” Florida head coach Billy Donovan said. “I’m still a little bit cautious of where he’s at because I haven’t seen him sprint, cut, change direction, do those kind of things.”
Donovan said that the first 24 hours after the injury was suffered against UCLA went very well. He’s worried, along with the rest of Gator Nation, that the injury might hamper Boynton’s ability to guard Fredette.
