Jordan Adams, of Oak Hill Academy, is one of the top 50 recruits in the nation. Although Adams was recruited by many, he eventually chose to play at UCLA. That’s not the interesting part of his recruitment. That comes from the “tactics” Bruce Pearl used to try to lure Adams to play basketball at the University of Tennessee.
When asked by the National Recruiting Spotlight to if he had any interesting stories about his recruitment, Jordan had this to share:
Yeah, well, he’s fired now, so . . . we had a game and there was this girl, she was beautiful. She came up to me and started talking to me and told me she went to Tennessee. She said Bruce Pearl sent her. I kind of knew she was kind of a groupie, but she was just so beautiful I just had to talk to her
Looks like in his final days as the coach, Bruce Pearl was putting those famed Volunteer hostesses to use, having them take their “talents” to the road. It’s stories like this that make me miss Pearl’s days as a coach.
