Story: In a game with big implications for the Big Ten title race, Ohio State went into Assembly Hall and hung tough with the Hoosiers from start to finish. With a win, Cody Zeller and company would have clinched the Big Ten Championship, but Zeller was held in check for much of the first half while a balanced attack kept the Hoosiers on their heels. Sam Thompson got off to a hot start, hitting four of his first five shots while the Buckeye backcourt terrorized Jordan Hulls and Yogi Ferrell. Shannon Scott provided a spark off the bench, picking up four steals, while Craft and Thomas combined for nine points during an 11-2 run down the stretch to put the game out of reach. Some Buckeyes will suddenly find themselves cheering for the Maize and Blue. Yesssssssss #GoBucks. Now on Sunday at 4 #GOBLUE ...

Craft, Buckeyes spoil Indiana’s Senior Night

Everything was assembled for Indiana to have the party of the year on Tuesday night. The Hoosiers were playing for sole possession of a Big Ten title — one they hadn’t won since 1993 — and against the very team they manhandled just weeks ago at Ohio State. Plus, they were prepared to honor their three seniors, a class of guys responsible for bringing the Indiana program back...

Buckeyes Upset Hoosiers on Indiana Senior Night

In their best performance of the season, Ohio State knocked off the #2 Indiana Hoosiers on their Senior Night in Assembly Hall. A truly amazing effort by the Buckeyes, Indiana were out hustled, out “toughed”, and thoroughly out played by the rowdy Buckeye bunch. On a night that could have very well been decided by the play of Ohio State’s bigs, Aaron Craft and Shannon Scott...

Film Session: Yogi’s big night

Freshman point guard Yogi Ferrell scored a career-high 19 points in Indiana’s 73-60 win over the Hawkeyes on Saturday night. His scoring was aided by a strong night at the line (8-of-10), but Ferrell also flashed some serious skill in penetrating off the perimeter for scores at the rim. A look at three such drives and a jumper from Ferrell in the latest edition of Film Session...

Indiana never looked more vulnerable

This was not how the night was supposed to end. This was Senior Night at Assembly Hall, a night that was supposed to be filled with tear-jerking speeches from Indiana's three seniors, with mothers holding bouquets and players holding framed jerseys, and most of all with a Hoosiers win in their final home game of the season, securing an outright Big Ten regular-season title....

Inside the boxscore: Ohio State 67, Indiana 58

1. With the loss Indiana falls to 13-4 and is now one game ahead of Ohio State (and 1 1/2 ahead of three other teams). Indiana has lost two of their last three after starting the season 24-3. The Buckeyes are 5-1 since losing at home to the Hoosiers. Ohio State finishes with a home game against Illinois, while IU hits the road to Ann Arbor. IU is guaranteed at least a tie in the...

Should Indiana have cut down nets after loss?

The old tradition of cutting down the nets following championship performances is as much a part of basketball as the opening tip off. On Tuesday night, immediately after losing to Ohio State, the Indiana Hoosiers celebrated their 21st Big Ten championship in school history by taking the shears to the Assembly Hall nylons after the team’s final home game of the year. Cody Zeller...

Dual Point Payoff: Craft and Scott Lead The Way, Stun Indiana

Throughout this season, the Ohio State Buckeyes have had their trials and tribulations on the offensive end of the floor. At times, playing both junior point guard Aaron Craft and sophomore point guard Shannon Scott simultaneously — while ideal on the defensive end — has damaged Ohio State’s halfcourt offensive attack due to a lack of outside shooting from those two. Tuesday...

The Minute After: Ohio State

Thoughts on a 67-58 loss to the Buckeyes: There would be no outright Big Ten title awarded on Senior Night, no fitting ending to the group that brought Indiana back to its rightful place on top of the college basketball mountain. No, the Buckeyes would come into this game like the Badgers did all those weeks ago, with confidence, no fear and the belief that they could rip the hearts...

Finally, A Signature Win.

A big win for Ohio State (image courtesy of USA Today.) We had to wait until the final week of the season but the Buckeyes finally have a signature road win. Ohio State went into Assembly Hall in Bloomington and pushed Indiana around 67-58. The win gives, Thad Matta’s Buckeyes,  a signature road win. We have been waiting for that since a November evening at Cameron Indoor Stadium...
