Score: No. 2 Ohio State 95, No. 15 Iona 70 Star(s): Ohio State: Sam Thompson 20 Pts, 10 Reb. Deshaun Thomas 24 Pts, 3 Reb, 2 Ast.  Iona: Tavon Sledge 20 Pts, 3 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Blk. Story: All of the talk leading up to this one was about Momo Jones, and most of it came form Mr. Jones himself. Now it’s about the way Aaron Craft and the Buckeyes stifled the nation’s third leading scorer. After Iona jumped out to a 4-0 lead, the Buckeyes stormed back for a 27-4 run, sparked by the defense of Shannon Scott and Craft and headlined by the rim rattling dunks of Sam Thompson. Thompson finished the game with a career high 20 points and 10 rebounds, but his alley-oop dunks stole the show for the Buckeyes. The athleticism from the Scarlet and Gray proved too much to handle for the Gales of Iona. While Iona did make a come back in the first half, pulling within six, the Buckeyes still went into the break with a 10 point advantage. Coming out of the locker room, Ohio State jumped out on a 9-0 run. The result was never in doubt form that point forward. Iona finished the day 6-of-28 from 3-point land, compared to a 7-of-15 showing by the Buckeyes. The Gaels also turned the ball over 19 times as Craft and Scott harassed Jones and company into backtracking on the statements made leading up to the game. Lamont “Momo” Jones does, in fact, know who Aaron Craft is now.
