Billy Baron scored 23 points and Harold Washington added 22 as Canisius defeated St. Peter's in overtime 77-65 Thursday night in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.
Chris Manhertz and Isaac Sosa scored 12 apiece for Canisius (18-11, 11-6).
After Baron made a 3-pointer to put Canisius on top 61-58, Yvon Raymond answered with a trey to tie the game at 61-all with 21 seconds left. Blaise Ffrench was unable to connect on a late jumper, sending the game into overtime.
After Raymond scored the first basket of overtime for the Peacocks, Washington and Sosa made back-to-back 3-pointers to go up 67-63.
Raymond cut the lead to 67-65 with 3:08 left to play, but that would be the last points scored by St. Peter's. Raymond scored the only two baskets for St. Peter's in the extra period.
Desi Washington led the Peacocks (9-19, 3-14) with 18 points.
