Tubby Smith has put together the middling renaissance to convince basketball schools that, despite his unceremonious departure from Kentucky, he's still got the chops to field a competitive program. In his three years at Minnesota--definitely a major-conference who-dat--Smith has reached at least 20 wins each year, and his last two seasons have merited NCAA bids.
So with all that success behind him, perhaps it's time for Smith to take his act back to the big time. Someplace with a rich basketball history and natural recruiting advantage. Someplace like... Auburn. Wait, what?
