Despite losing four of their last seven games, Rick Pitino remains optimistic about the remainder of the regular season. During his radio show last night Pitino said his team has learned from their previous mistakes and he expects to win the rest of their games this season. “We don’t worry about the past, we learn from the past,” says Pitino. “Our goal is to win the next seven games and finish the season 26-5. Seven straight wins and nothing less. We are playing hard enough right now.” Winning seven in a row is much easier said than done, but like I mentioned yesterday, the back end of Louisville’s schedule sets up well for the Cards. All seven games are winnable and the final three against Cincinnati, Syracuse and Notre Dame are wins that could only help the Cards tournament resume. Louisville will need to win out and hope that teams like Syracuse and Georgetown lose a couple more games, but if the Cards win out it’s still possible that they could win the league.
