Connecticut is your 2011 NCAA Basketball champion.
The Huskies beat Butler 53-41 on Monday night to win head coach Jim Calhoun his third national title. The Bulldogs had the worst shooting performance (12 of 64) in the history of the national championship game. Nine of Butler’s twelve made shots were three pointers.
Kemba Walker had 16 points and 9 rebounds and was named the Most Outstanding Player.. Walker shot only 5 of 19 from the field but made the most of his opportunities throughout the game. Center Alex Oriaki had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Jeremy Lamb scored 12.
Connecticut made just one three pointer, but outrebounded Butler 51-40 and had ten blocks.
Shlevin Mack scored 13 points and added 9 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who lost int the national championship game for the second straight year.
