It’s no secret that the Maryland Terrapins are one of John Calipari’s and the Kentucky Wildcat’s biggest competition for a couple of the “crown jewels” of the 2013 recruiting class: the Harrison Twins. A couple of months ago, the Terps were said to be “all in” on the pursuit of Andrew and Aaron Harrison when 2013 PG Nate Britt committed to North Carolina in November. Now, it seems that things may have changed a bit with the news that Jamal Branch is transferring from Texas A&M. Branch, who will be eligible to play in 2013, will visit Maryland next weekend. If Branch chooses the Terrapins, a Maryland site sees that as “waving the white flag” on the Harrison twins as it is unlikely they would still consider Kentucky wiwth one top level PG already committed to the Terps. Of course, Kentucky still needs to beat out Arizona, amoung others for the Harrisons, but the Jamal Branch situation is one to keep an eye on.
