Illinois fullback Jay Prosch is transferring to Auburn. Illinois said Wednesday that the Mobile, Ala., native will be closer to his family. The move also follows the hiring of new head coach Tim Beckman, who plans to run a spread offense that wouldn't use a fullback. Prosch, a sophomore, was a starter this fall but served primarily as a blocker.

The Fighting Illini women's tennis team (1-0) will play at Atkins Tennis Center for the first time this season, hosting a pair of in-state rivals on Saturday, Jan. 21. The Orange and Blue will face Western Illinois at noon, followed by a clash with Illinois State at 4 p.m.
Auburn is expected to add a football transfer from the Big 10 as Illinois announced Jay Prosch was heading to the Plains.

The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team will travel to Lincoln, Neb., to face the Cornhuskers this Saturday, Jan. 21. The Illini are 3-1 all-time against Nebraska after opening the past four seasons against the Big Ten newcomers. Saturday's contest will mark the final dual meet of the season for the Orange and Blue.
