He walked on as a freshman in 2008-09 and was part manager and part practice player. He came out of high school as an MVP in his league on the California coast. He could have gone to a smaller program and probably been a star.He has played in 15 games in four years, chalked up 31 minutes of playing time, has 10 total points and picked up his first career assist 11 days ago.Even with his sparse play, Pickert has become a symbol for the DU fans. Head coach Joe Scott says he can count on hearing "Put Pickert in" as games move along. One fan has put together a big placard showing a photograph of Pickert's face.
