Stingy defense and rebounding have been the foundation of Old Dominion's success under head coach Blaine Taylor, but occasionally the Monarchs like to surprise us with some flair to go with their fundamentals.Check out Old Dominion guard Kent Bazemore unleashing a vicious transition dunk at the 1:11 mark of the video below. In the first half of the Monarchs' 77-70 victory over Atlantic 10 contender Richmond on Wednesday night, Bazemore catches a pass on a dead sprint on the left wing and rises up and over a helpless defender for a memorable one-handed slam. Bazemore's slam was the highlight of a season-high 22-point performance that may have been his best in an Old Dominion uniform.
