Florida and Alabama are both 11-3 in the SEC, but are in completely different positions in the race for a NCAA Tournament bid. The Gators are expected to grab a top five seed when the field is announced on Selection Sunday, while the Crimson Tide’s fate is still in doubt.
The Gators have went 11-3 in the rough, tough SEC East and have backed that record up with good victories out of conference. On the other hand, Alabama went 8-6 in out of conference play and has beat up teams in the poor SEC West. That disparity translates into the difference in where the two teams stand going into Tuesday night’s showdown.
