Erving Walker played his last game as a Florida Gator just last weekend in Florida’s Elite Eight loss to Louisville.  Aside from staying in shape with hope of continuing his basketball career professionally – and possibly going to class – Walker has something else to look forward to.  A court date – scheduled for April 19 at 9 a.m.

The reason: he allegedly stole a taco from a street vendor in Gainesville.  The story (according to the police report) goes that Walker ordered a $3 taco from a street vendor and upon receiving the food, he ran away without paying.  When a police officer caught up to Walker and yelled at him to stop, he kept going.

According to the Palm Beach Post:

The arresting officer finally caught Walker with help from “several marked patrol cars.” When the police reached Walker, he told them he was “just playing around,” the report said. The officer wrote that Walker “stated when he ran off with the taco he knew that he had not paid for it and that he was stealing food.”

This would be Walker’s second run-in with the law.  He was given a misdemeanor for resisting an officer without violence in Alachua County in 2008.

As for Walker’s career at Florida, he finished first in program history in assists with 547, fourth in points with 1,777 and ninth in steals with 159…well, 160 if you include the taco.
