Sherrod Wright scored 24 points and Bryon Allen added 16 as George Mason defeated Towson 77-67 Wednesday night for its 20th consecutive victory over the Tigers. Wright made 14 of 17 free throws for the Patriots (12-7, 5-2 Colonial Athletic Association), who clung to a 69-65 lead with 1:25 remaining. A layup by Allen made it 71-65, and two Wright free throws stretched the lead to 73-65 with 36 seconds left. George Mason led 41-34 at the half after shooting 50 percent (15 of 30) to Towson's 34.3 percent (12 of 35). The Tigers (10-11, 5-3) were playing their third game in five days.
