Globe Staff It’s good to see a Syracuse education has become a complete punch line in the wake of Fab Melo. The 7-foot Brazilian bully got caught up in the courts at SU, was labeled one of the biggest busts in school history after his freshman year, was put on academic suspension in January, and then was deemed ineligible for the NCAA tourney. So, of course when he was drafted by the Celtics a cynical Northeastern city thew some jabs. But did the front office have to jump into the mix as well? And does his studies have to be such a farce?
