Mike DeCourcy, Sporting News Once a highly-regarded prospect and recruiting prize, guard Alex Legion is leaving the Illinois program. Legion was averaging 2.7 points in 10 minutes per game for the Illini but barely left the bench in their two most recent games. He scored 11 points in an easy November victory over Presbyterian but otherwise did not reach double figures this season. "Alex is a good kid who faced a difficult situation in returning to the court last year at semester break," Illinois coach Bruce Weber said in a statement. "He worked hard during his time here and gave great effort. We wish him the best and we'll do whatever we can to help him in his transition."
