Hawkeye Basketball | Cully Payne is Leaving Iowa

Sophomore Cully Payne set the Twitter world buzzing when he tweeted this an hour ago: "It's about that time that I close this chapter in my life and get ready to move on.. I got a great family and gf and friends"Also on Twitter, Hawkeye Report is stating that: "Cully Payne has asked for and been granted his release from the University of Iowa. Will be transferring, per his AAU coach."This news comes on the heels of Hawk Central reporting that Iowa is recruiting a junior college point guard from Las Vegas. Payne started every game as a freshman in 09-10. The Todd Lickliter recruit averaged 8.7 points as a true freshman and recorded 122 assists. His sophomore year was cut short due to injury and future playing time potentially cut short with the emergence of Bryce Cartwright. No word on where Cully is heading to. Fran McCaffery has said he wanted to get two more to sign this Spring. Now, it appears, he may want to sign three.
