During the 2014 NBA Draft on Thursday Night, there were many surprising picks and trades. One important one was the Heat’s trading up to pick Shabazz Napier, the raved-about point guard out of Uconn. It is understandable to pick Napier because of his talent, but that is not why the Heat picked him. Sure, Miami lacks a great point guard, but they took Shabazz because LeBron wanted them to pick him. James opted out of his contract Tuesday, and the Heat are trying to re-sign him, but have lots of competition to acquire LeBron. The King was already leaning toward Miami, but now has even more incentive to return to the Heat, as he will be able to play alongside his favorite player in this year’s draft class.
