In July, the Kansas Pray and Play Players were an eye-catching team, for a number of reasons. Upon entering a basketball facility with multiple courts of basketball action in progress, the team from Kansas with neon green uniforms almost always caught the eye of observers. And after watching the squad play for a bit, a 6′-4″ wing showed explosive athleticism, and an outside shot that appeared unorthodox, but went in a good deal of the time. That player in question was Buddy Hield, a 6′-4″ native of the Bahamas, at Sunrise Christian (KS). According to OUHoops, he committed to Oklahoma tonight.
Hield is coach Lon Kruger’s first 2012 pledge since taking over the head coach position in the Oklahoma program. Hield reportedly visited Colorado last week, and also had an offer from Kansas on the table.
