The Minnesota Golden Gophers defended their home turf Tuesday knocking off the number one-ranked Indiana Hoosiers at “The Barn” in Minneapolis.  And while Indiana has certainly looked like the best team in country, especially after beating Michigan State in East Lansing this past week, they’re becoming very easy to dislike. If you remember in the MSU game, Indiana big man Cody Zeller caught Michigan State center Derrick Nix in the groin with an elbow midway through the second half.  A few minutes later, Zeller pulled Nix’s hand toward his own crotch trying to goad the officials into thinking Nix retaliated.  The verdict: the refs didn’t buy it. In the last minute of Tuesday’s game with Minnesota leading by five, Indiana’s Will Sheehey was trappingAndre Hollins after an inbounds pass.  In a similar effort to Zeller’s Sheehey took a major dive in hope that the referees would somehow call a flagrant foul.  The officials, very rightfully so, dismissed it after watching replays. New in college basketball this season is the rule that any contact to the head of an opponent is a flagrant foul. Sheehey fell and grabbed his face as though Hollins popped him with an elbow. ESPN’s Dan Dakich did a nice job of calling out Sheehey’s acting job (listen to the commentary below).  And really, it’s something that should be addressed.  What’s the adage?  One time is a fluke, two times is a trend.  This whole acting nonsense is quickly becoming a trend with Indiana basketball. It’s time that a reporter address with Tom Crean to at least get a reaction. It’s coming to the point where it’s reasonable to think that diving is being coached. The horrific acting won’t get you any closer to Jennifer Lawrence, you guys.
