Inside the boxscore: Duke 85, UNC 84

1. In Duke's last game, a home loss to Miami, Mason Plumlee played just 28 minutes (in an overtime game), and he sat out for long stretches of the 2nd half, including the final 4:14 because he couldn't do anything to stop Hurricane big man Reggie Johnson. Against UNC's smaller (lighter) bigs, that wasn't an issue. He played the 2nd most minutes this season and pulled down 14 rebounds, including 4 which extended possessions on the offensive end. He barely missed his 10th double-double of the season (8 points, 14 boards). 2. Austin Rivers scored 29 points in his first UNC-Duke game, and made a little basket at the end that mattered. He made 3-6 2s, 6-10 3s and 5-8 FTs. He set new career highs for points (29), 3s (6), and tied his best with two offensive rebounds. With Dexter Strickland out with an injury, the Tar Heels had no one who could keep him out of the lane.
