By Chad Lykins – In what has been described as one of the most anticipated and talked about collegiate decisions in recent memory, Simeon Career Academy (Illinois) senior Jabari Parker ended his recruitment by giving a verbal pledge to the Duke Blue Devils in a press conference held at his high school on Thursday afternoon. Parker, the consensus No. 2 overall ranked player in the country, chose the Blue Devils over BYU, Florida, Michigan State and Stanford. He will make it official, as he will sign his national letter of intent during the spring signing period, which runs from April 17 to May 15 of next year. “I will be attending Duke University,” the 6’8″ small forward said holding a Duke Basketball T-shirt. “I chose Duke because it’s a perfect fit for me. Coach Krzyzewski has really put a key hand in my development, even throughout high school, telling me basic things of what I need to do and I just felt comfortable.” Since trimming his list down to five in October, two schools cl...

DURHAM, N.C. -- West Point, other service academies and branches of the military are renowned for their mental toughness teaching tactics.
Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski attended West Point, where he played for Bob Knight, served five years in the Army and then was the head coach at his alma mater for five seasons. That quadruple dose taught him a great deal about various...
Jabari Parker ended months of intense speculation by announcing on Thursday that he would attend Duke University after high school.
Parker is a consensus top five recruit for the 2013 class. The 6-foot-8 forward from Chicago cited Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski as a big reason why he chose the Blue Devils.
“What brought me to the decision is the history. Duke is always going to be...
Editor’s note: I intended to publish this story on December 14th, but decided not to after the events of Sandy Hook Elementary School. I ask anyone who reads this to do two things. Please consider taking up the #26Acts effort and practice a random act of kindness for each of the 26 victims. After a long break during exam time, the Duke Basketball team took the time out to meet with the media yesterday. Many questions were geared towards the team’s response to being ranked #1 on Monday by the Associated Press and on Marshall Plumlee’s return tonight. Check out the interviews below.
After Duke’s 41-point win over the Cornell Big Red, Coach Mike Krzyzewski and select players met with the media to discuss the team’s return from exam break and their first game as the #1 team in the country. My favorite interview below has to be Todd Zafirovski’s, the Macedonian Monster.

Duke's shooters didn't need to be as accurate as usual, not with Mason Plumlee dominating inside the way he did.
Plumlee had 21 points and 15 rebounds, and the top-ranked Blue Devils beat Elon 76-54 on Thursday night for their 100th straight nonconference win at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Ryan Kelly added 14 points, freshman Rasheed Sulaimon had 13 and the Blue Devils (11...
It has been so long since Duke last played a game that I may have to look at a roster to know who exactly is playing on this year’s team. Okay maybe not that long.
Duke fans are hoping to get their first real glimpse of Marshall Plumlee in real game action this season.
But it has been a number of days since the Blue Devils dispatched the Temple Owls before going on break for...
It wasn’t a thing of beauty for Duke but it was enough to win and that may not have even been the most exciting part of the day for most Blue Devil fans.
Mason Plumlee led Duke yet again this time recording 21 points in the Blue Devils victory over Elon.
Mason Plumlee led the way yet again with 21 points and 16 rebounds as Duke kept Elon at a distance in the second half...

By Duke Of Hoops – Well, so far the incorrect interpretation of the Mayan Calendar predicting the end of the world today is incorrect. We’re all still alive and if we’re living in an alternate reality, I don’t want it to end. Duke Basketball is on top of the world right now, undefeated with a #1 ranking and just secured the best committed basketball prospect in high school...
Mason Plumlee logged another double-double to lead Duke to an 11th win on the year
Surprise, surprise, Mike Krzyzewski and Duke landed another huge basketball recruit in Jabari Parker, a six-foot-eight forward from Simeon Career Academy in Chicago. Parker said so himself today that Duke gets recruits like him “all the time.” Duke landing Parker might actually mean less than Michigan State, Parker’s alleged second choice, not getting...
Top high school recruit Jabari Parker of Chicago's Simeon Career Academy is still weighing his college options.
His father, Sonny, says he is trying to decide between Michigan State, Duke, Florida, Stanford and Brigham Young. Parker, who is ranked No. 2 by Scout.com in the Class of 2013, is scheduled to announce his choice Thursday during a news conference at Simeon.
