Nebraska has landed their first verbal commitment for the Class of 2012, junior college center Keith Coleman, according to the Times-Republican. The 6′-9″ freshman prospect from Marshalltown Community College (IA) made the call, and is the first known commitment for the Cornhuskers for next year.
Coleman prepped at Lee Academy (ME) last season, and is expected to have three seasons of eligibility in Lincoln after completing his freshman year at Marshalltown Community College. He is a native of Philadelphia.
Marshalltown Community College head coach Brynjar Brynjarsson told the Times-Republican that , ”He’s got a really bright future. He really looks the part. He’s a physical specimen.”
In the same article, Coleman cited a lengthy relationship with Nebraska’s Director of Basketball Operations, David Anwar, a fellow Philadelphia native, as a major reason that he’s headed to Nebraska.
