College basketball fans may have a monster matchup to start looking forward to — two of the most historic programs in the game could be facing off in the near future. It appears that a Kentucky vs. UCLA showdown may be on the horizon. UK head basketball coach John Calipari tweeted at UCLA coach Steve Alford today about planning “big things” between the programs. Following Calipari’s tweet, Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones indicated that the deal is nearly done and the schools will play beginning in 2014-15. The teams have faced off a total of 10 times in the past– the most recent meeting occurred in 2006 when the Bruins took the victory at the Maui Classic Invitational. If this matchup is really in the works, it would be another treat for the college basketball world. Who wouldn’t want to watch two of the winningest programs go at it head-to-head?

The Wildcats have always appeared to be the favorites to land the point guard and are currently the only official visit Mudiay has made. According to 247sports recruiting guru Jerry Meyer, he says...
There is no questioning this Kentucky Wildcats fan’s allegiance. I’m sure this song took plenty of time to write, but perhaps he should have found someone else to sing it. We’ll give him some points for creativity anyways.
Before the start of his freshman season of high school basketball, James Blackmon Jr. committed to Tom Crean and the Indiana Hoosiers. Very rarely does this scenario play out with the recruit going on to play for the school he pledged to in the 8th grade. The last one I can remember was Baylor getting a commitment from Perry Jones III. On Thursday, Blackmon made it known that he...
