Maryland Sports Correspondent Andy Peden reacts to today’s Terps news.
I’ve been resigned to this fact for a few weeks. I don’t agree with with it but that’s his decision. He’s probably going to sneak into the first round so he’s going to get guaranteed money. Beyond that, I don’t know what else has gone into his decision.
This is going to leave Maryland with absolutely nothing inside. There is Padge, Weis and Pankey who when you add them together barely make a serviceable big man. There is the possibility that Wally Judge ends up at MD and is able to use “transferred to be closer to home” as a way to get a waiver so he doesn’t sit out this season. But he’s just as likely to go to Rutgers.
Gary is going to have to play small next year. Like really small at times. While a starting lineup of Stogs, Howard, Faust, Mosley and Padge isn’t terribly small (other than when you play UNC and Duke), imagine when its Stogs, Howard, Faust, Mosley and Hawk!
