It looked like Baylor was going to give Kentucky all that it could handle 4 minutes into the game with 10-5 lead following at Quincy Miller’s three-point shot, but John Calipari called a timeout and implored his players to play their game and dominate. That is exactly what the Wildcats did as they ripped off an impressive 16-0 run and did not look back the rest of the way, closing out with an 82-70 win in the South Regional Final.

The Kentucky Wildcats will be making their 15th appearance in the Final Four, one year after losing the in the National Tile Game to the UConn Huskies. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis, two players headed to the NBA next season, thoroughly dominated the game. Kidd-Gilchrist led all scorers with 19 points on 70% shooting from the field. Davis added 18 points and 11 rebounds, just another double-double for the All-American and Naismith Award finalist.

The win gives Kentucky a 1 win lead on North Carolina for most all-time wins in NCAA history with 109, as UNC waits to play Kansas in the later game.

Quincy Acy led the Baylor Bears and all scorers with 22 points.

Kentucky will head to the Big Easy to play the Louisville Cardinals in one of the semifinal games next Saturday. Louisville defeated Florida a night earlier in dramatic fashion.

This will be Calipari’s 4th appearance in the Final Four, though appearances in 1996 and 2008 were vacated by the NCAA for violations.
