As expected, Ole Miss chalked up its eighth win this afternoon, easily handling Mississippi Valley State 80-56, but the highlight of the day was the debut of heralded freshman LaDarius White. White, who had been held out the first eight games to complete NCAA academic requirements, proved he was worth the wait when he checked in early in the first half, quickly finding his range from beyond the arc and showing head coach Andy Kennedy he now has a new weapon to add to her arsenal. White was 4-for-5 from 3-pt range in the first half, and while his production slowed significantly in the second half, his 16 points still led the team in scoring. Dundrecous Nelson, who stayed on the bench most of the first half while White put on his show, finished the game with 14 points in just 16 minutes of play, including two trey's and shooting 4-for-5 from the free throw line.
