Ryan Willen scored 22 points and Jim Mower added 17 to pace Lafayette to a 90-74 Patriot League victory over Army on Wednesday night.
The Leopards (11-13, 6-3) used a 14-3 run to build a 61-49 lead with 11:53 remaining and never led by fewer than 10 points after that. There were 10 ties and eight lead changes in the first half.
Army limited the Leopards to five 3-pointers after they came in averaging 9.1, fifth in the nation. Three of them, however, came during Lafayette's decisive run, when Nick Petkovich hit two treys and Willen one.
Lafayette made 31 of 37 free throws, led by Willen's 11-for-12 night, while the Black Knights (10-14, 3-6) were 26 of 31, as the teams combined to commit 51 fouls.
Ella Ellis led Army with 26 points and 10 rebounds, his 26th consecutive game scoring in double figures.
