Chicago - Wisconsin senior Jon Leuer on Thursday was named to the Big Ten's preseason all-conference team but UW was not projected to finish in the top three of the men's basketball race.
Coming off its second consecutive Final Four appearance, Michigan State was selected to win the regular-season title.
The voting was conducted by media members who cover the Big Ten.
Ohio State and Purdue were picked to finish second and third, respectively.
