Jordan Taylor and Jon Leuer became the first pair of teammates in Wisconsin history to be named first-team all-Big Ten by the coaches voting panel when the conference released their annual awards Monday. The coaches selected both players to the first team and the media voting panel selected Taylor to the first and Leuer to the second. Taylor was one of only two unanimous first-team selections by the media. It comes as a surprise that the media selected Penn State’s Talor Battle to the first team instead of Leuer. Battle is a great player, but if you had to choose between him and Leuer for your own team, wouldn’t you pick Leuer? Battle is a slightly better scorer, but Leuer is far more versatile. It was interesting decision. It was also a bit of a surprise that Josh Gasser was left off the coaches’ All-Freshman team, although its hard to argue against any of those that did make it.
