For the second year in a row, Notre Dame’s basketball turned out to be a huge disappointment. Despite having All-American Luke Harangody and a decent supporting cast, the Irish bowed out of the NCAA tournament in the opening round in a 51-50 loss to Old Dominion.The loss was all the more disappointing because Notre Dame was a popular pick to make a bit of a run as Harangody got healthier. Notre Dame finished the season 23-12, which isn’t terrible but a first round exit in the tournament in the season after they ended up in the N.I.T. is awful. Talk about a bitter disappointment for Harangody. Last season the Irish looked poised for a big year and after starting 10-2, they finished the regular season 17-13. This year, they started 12-2 and finished the regular season 21-10.
