The Arizona State athletic department Wednesday announced 72 student-athletes graduating this week. Among them is Trent Lockett, the mens basketball team's leading scorer last season who announced in March he would transfer from ASU to be closer to home and his ailing mother, who has been diagnosed with cancer, in Minnesota.
Lockett's graduation makes official what has been noted before, that he will be eligible to play immediately after transferring, upon acceptance into a graduate program. Having graduated but still possessing a year of NCAA eligibility, Lockett will not have to sit out a season.
It appears that Lockett has narrowed his decision to a pair of schools: Marquette and Iowa state.
According to CycloneFanatic.com, Locket visited Iowa State last week and was impressed with what he saw. Iowa State recruited Lockett out of high school, but much has changed in the program since then.
