From start to finish, the South Florida Bulls were no match for Louisville. This one was ugly for all forty minutes. The Cards used an 18-point half time lead to cruise to a 64-38 blowout win. Peyton Siva led the Cards with 17 points and early in the second half became a member of Louisville’s illustrious 1,000 point club. He now has 1,004 for his career. Siva is the first member since Preston Knowles in 2010-11. Gorgui Dieng has now had a double-double in all three Big East games this season. Gorgui finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds, which is a season high. 16 of those rebounds came on the offensive end. Pitino still wants to see an improvement from Gorgui defensively, but his return has helped the Cards in multiple ways. Chane Behanan returned from an ankle injury and had just 7 points, but did grab 12 rebounds. Getting Behanan back to 100% will be crucial for Louisville.
