To be honest, that wasn’t all that pretty, but at this point, it doesn’t matter. It’s survive and advance from here on out. One thing that I really enjoyed seeing is that Louisville didn’t play a great game, but still looked like the superior team. I still think Peyton Siva is the difference maker. He fouled out and made a few questionable decisions, but still, his play today proved that the Big East tournament wasn’t a fluke. Siva finished with 17 points and 6 assists. Chane Behanan was a grown man this afternoon. He finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The execution and focus of this team really stood out to me. I think it’s obvious that they knew that a lot of people don’t expect much out of them in this tournament.
Now we wait. I still think New Mexico will roll over Long Beach State, but Casper Ware alone makes the 49ers a threat. I’d much rather play Long Beach, but I doubt that happens.
