Louisville got off to a very slow start on Wednesday night at DePaul, falling behind 8-0 within the first couple of minutes. Louisville stormed back scoring nine unanswered points and never looked back. There is no denying how sloppy Louisville looked at times, but 42-points in the paint and 23-points off of turnovers helped the Cards cruise to a 79-58 win over DePaul. Louisville moves to 23-5 overall and 11-4 in Big East play. 18-total turnovers against a team like DePaul is a little excessive, but overall, Louisville’s offense continued to show improvement. The Cardinals are averaging 78.6 points in their last six games. Louisville had five players in double figures, with Russ Smith leading the way. Smith finished with 17 points and entered Louisville’s prestigious 1,000 point club. Peyton Siva had some unforced turnovers early on, but settled in nicely down the stretch.
