Vermont sophomore point guard Simeon Marsalis has announced that he will no longer be playing college basketball. The son of jazz great Wynton Marsails will remain at UVM to concentrate on his studies.Marsalis lost his starting role to freshman Sandro Carissimo midway through the season and only played ten minutes a game from that point. His departure frees up a scholarship. Mike Lonergan declined to say when that would be used.
Seems that summer and fall are 'anticipation season', November and December are ''pre-season", January and February are "the season", the first half of March is "post season" and now we are into "attrition season" to be followed by "signing season". We hoops junkies get more seasons than the peasantry.
