Since yesterday, when we learned that Marshall Henderson was suspended indefinitely from Ole Miss, more news has surfaced on the rebel sharpshooter. Henderson was suspended due to failing numerous drug tests in his time at the university. However, this was far from Marshall’s first incident with the program. He was arrested in 2009 and in 2011 he served jail time for a violation of probation after he used counterfeit money to purchase 59 grams of marijuana. In June, the NCAA rebuked Henderson for an “inappropriate gesture” after Ole Miss lost to La Salle back in March. And before Henderson even stepped on Ole Miss’s court, he tested positive for both cocaine and marijuana. According to ESPN’s Andy Katz, Ole Miss contacted Chris Herren in hopes of helping Marshall turn his life around — this is one of many times where the school tried to help Henderson learn from others’ mistakes.. Herren is a former NBA player who overcame a drug addiction while playing ball and is now a motivational speaker. Herren reportedly already called Henderson over a month ago and didn’t get a call back — until today.  We know that Marshall did talk to Herren today because he, of course, tweeted about it. Here’s a tweet between the two of them:  24 / 7 brother…Any time !! RT @NativeFlash22: Talkin with chris herren can make ya feel alot better!! #notgoinanywhere — CHRIS HERREN (@c_herren) July 11, 2013 Hopefully this means that Henderson is willing to accept the help he needs — at least according to Dick Vitale: Reading all the incidents that have been attributed to Ole Miss’s Henderson makes me say LOUD/CLEAR SON get HELP b4 too late - — Dick Vitale (@DickieV) July 11, 2013 [ESPN]
