MILWAUKEE -- Ladies and gentlemen, meet Todd Mayo.
Better known to some as younger brother of O.J. Mayo, the 6-foot-3 guard from Huntington, W.V. was a highly-touted recruit out of Notre Dame Prep and Monday night, in the Golden Eagles' 88-56 victory over Jacksonville, Mayo showed Marquette nation a glimpse of what could be.
In 15 minutes of work off the bench, Mayo scored 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting and was five-for-six from the free-throw line, adding an assist and a steal to his line. Through six games, Mayo is the team's fourth-leading scorer, with 8.8 points per game, and is shooting 50 percent from the field and 43 percent (7 of 16) from beyond the arc.
"Another threat," said senior Jae Crowder. "He's a guy who can really do anything on the bounce. He's big for our offense and that's the type of guy Buzz recruits. He's come a long way defensively and he's caught on well. He's another threat for us, on offense and defense."
