If you count back from game day, which is next Monday, Jan. 2, then Wednesday would be Monday on the Cowboys weekly schedule, which is an off day. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy wasn't benevolent enough to give the Cowboy players a complete day off in Arizona but he did have a short practice at Scottsdale Community College.
In a season full of great things at Oklahoma State, defensive end Cooper Bassett has been one of the pleasant surprises on the defense. Bassett has made the transition to the d-line over the past two seasons and has become a key contributor at defensive end. Stanford's second consecutive BCS bowl likely won't be another 28-point blowout. Oklahoma State will give Stanford a much harder fight than Virginia Tech did last January, and OSU is arguably the best team on Stanford's 2011 schedule.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys were up for some good eating Wednesday night as the team was treated to Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse where it is all-you-can-eat on various cuts of meat. The word from offensive linemen Levy Adcock and Grant Garner was that the eating was good but nobody over did it.
