The Miami Hurricanes Men’s basketball team continued their winning ways on Thursday night by notching their second consecutive victory over Texas Southern at home 84-69.  The Hurricanes were led in scoring by James Kelly, a JUCO transfer who enjoyed a wonderful night shooting from the field.  Kelly was 7-11 from the floor and 3-4 from downtown. Trailing 12-0 in the first half, the Hurricanes quickly made up the deficit and went to halftime with a 48-36 lead.  Their defense held Texas Southern in check while shooting 50% from the three-point line.  Miami enjoyed finally having some breathing room after their first two contests went to overtime.  Now sitting at 2-1, the Hurricanes prepare to visit the College of Charleston on November 18th and then travel home to face UCF before heading out west for the Wooden Tournament.
