Michigan looks for two wins this week Michigan Basketball is participating in the NIT Season Tip -Off this year. The Wolverines will play two home games on Monday (11/12) and Tuesday (11/13). Monday’s game is against IUPUI and on Tuesday Michigan will play the winner of Cleveland State and Bowling Green. Should Michigan prevail in both of those games they will advance to New York next week for the final rounds. Michigan would likely play Pittsburgh on Wednesday (11/21) in one semi-final game. The other semi-final should feature Kansas State vs Virginia. The winners of those two games will play for the championship on Friday (11/23). Here is the schedule with tip times and TV Monday (11/12) vs IUPUI: 9:05 tip and the game will be televised on ESPNU Tuesday (11/13) vs Cleveland State/Bowling Green: 8:05 tip and the game will be televised on ESPN2 Wednesday (11/21) vs Pittsburgh: This will tip at 7:00 on ESPNU or 9:30 on ESPN2 Friday (11/23) The Championship game is scheduled for 4:30 on ESPN and the consolation game will be at 2:30 on ESPN The Wolverines opened the 2012-13 season with a resounding 100-62 victory over Slippery Rock on Friday night. Tim Hardaway Jr. led Michigan with 25 points, 10 boards and 3 assists. Trey Burke chipped in 21 points and 8 assists. Glenn Robinson III also reached double figures in scoring with 10 points and 8 boards. In all, 12 Wolverines scored. The starting five against The Rock was: Trey Burke Matt Vogrich Tim Hardaway Jr. Glenn Robinson III Jordan Morgan The first players off the bench were Mitch McGary and Nik Stauskas. Jon Horford is also going to play a vital role on this team. Predictions: As always Joe and I will provide game-by-game predictions throughout the season. Last year I was 24-10 and Joe was 23-11 predicting the outcome of Michigan Basketball games. We both like Michigan to win two games this week and advance to New York.
