Tom Izzo spoke to the media after practice Wednesday morning. One of the topics he addressed was Derrick Nix’s ankle. Here is what he had to say:
Lehigh is not a bad team, and will be a decent challenge for the Spartans. They are 9-3 and lost at St. John’s and Iowa State by single digits. They do not have a ton of size down low, but if MSU overlooks them this game could be closer than expected.
Izzo is right; Big Ten season is extremely important, and for MSU to make a big run they need Nix healthy. However, after the UMKC game Nix seemed extremely confident that he would play. The coach gets the final call on this one, and if Nix is anything less than 100% he will be on the bench.
EAST LANSING, Mich. Trenton Robinson, one of Michigan State's senior captains, admires teammate Isaiah Lewis for his constant tenacity, every game and every practice.
"If he's going to mess up, he's going to mess up 100 mph," Robinson said. "He goes hard all the time."
