East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State senior Draymond Green was named the Big Ten Player of the Week today for his stellar performances against Penn State and Ohio State last week.
Green has won three weekly awards this season and four overall in his illustrious career at Michigan State.
The Spartan senior averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two Big Ten victories Michigan State had last week.
“Day-Day” scored 23 points and added 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the Spartans 77-57 victory over Penn State.
Green followed that game up with a 12 point and 9 rebound performance in the 58-48 upset over the then 3rd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. Green also was a huge contributor in the Spartans defensive dominance against OSU. Green held Ohio State’s Deshaun Thomas to 8 points on 2-of-12 shooting from the field.
