East Lansing, Mich. — Draymond Green puts the Spartans on his back, again, and carries the 12th ranked Michigan State Spartans to a victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Green scored 23-points on 6-of-15 shooting with 12 rebounds, and was a key factor late, as the Spartans pulled away from the charging Nittany Lions.
The Michigan State senior even got praise from opposing coach Patrick Chambers, as he said, “That’s what winners do, and he is a winner,” when asked about Green’s performance late in the game.
Penn State got the game within 7 points with 8:55 left in the 2nd half when Draymond Green scored 10 of the Spartans next 18 points to help put the Spartans up 72-52.
“He is suppose to do that, and we are suppose to get him the ball,” said Michigan State coach Tom Izzo. “He should have had a triple-double if someone could make a lay-up.”
