Nebraska Coach: Tim Miles (First season at Nebraska). Overall 283-220, 18 years 2011-12: Record: 12-18 overall, 4-14 in Big Ten (Tie/11th) Starters Returning (1) Brandon Ubel Preseason Tournament: Hosting the Nebraska Classic, Sun Bowl Invitational Top Non-Conference Games: at Wake Forest, USC Transfers In: Terran Petteway (Texas Tech- Sit out this season); Walter Pitchford (Florida- Sit out this season) Transfer Out: Josiah Moore (Tennessee Tech) Gone: Jorge Brian Diaz (decided not to return for senior year), Corey Hilliard (kicked off team) #100 Nebraska Gone is head coach Doc Sadler and now Tim Miles takes over the Cornhusker program. Miles comes from Colorado State, where he reached the NCAA tournament last year. He has the hard task of heading a basketball program at a football school. Bad news is that Nebraska losses 9 players from a very bad team last season, including 4 starters. Dylan Talley(8.9 ppg) was Nebraska top man off this bench last season, now he will need to be there best player. Talley is a pretty good three point shooter but he needs to improve his overall game. Joining Talley in the backcourt is FR Benny Parker and Ray Gallegos( 2.8 ppg 2010). Gallegos sent out last season to gain more strength. These two will battle for point guard duties but both don’t have a lot of experience. Benny Parker a JUCO Transfer will redshirt this season. The Cornhuskers have no depth in the backcourt. Trevor Menke, Jordan Tyrance, and Max Ritchie are all walk ons. Swingman David Rivers (1.1 ppg) should excel with an expanded role this season. Freshman Shavon Shields will back Rivers up. The lone starter returning for the Cornhuskers is Brandon Ubel (6.7 ppg). Ubel will have to increase his scoring role if the Huskers want to have any type of success this year. Ubel is a very good rebounder; he led the team last year. Joining him in the upfront will be Andre Almeida. Almeida (5.2 ppg -2010) is a center over 300 pounds that redshirted last season because of knee injuries. Once again the Cornhuskers have no depth here. Sergej Vucetic is a freshman from Serbia and Kye Kurkoswki is a walk on.
