The Nerlens Noel ACL injury is a game-changer to say the least. Noel has probably played his last games of college basketball, his final days with the Kentucky Wildcats. According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, he has a torn ACL. The Nerlens Noel ACL injury will now end his college basketball career and he’ll begin the recovery process for the NBA Draft. He would have been in contention for the number one pick. Although we had him as #4 overall before he went down. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE KENTUCKY WILDCATS: All Noel needed to do is look at what Anthony Davis was able to accomplish this past season as a blueprint for what his future might hold in Big Blue Nation and beyond.  Besides, some people are called him “Anthony Davis 2.0.”  However, that was a turn-off for Noel who was expected by the outside world to step right in and be the next Davis. UK is currently unranked and their 2 “marquee” wins are Ole Miss, and Maryland. Not very impressive for the NCAA Tournament resume. The Nerlens Noel ACL injury has three frontcourt players left this season; freshman center Willie Cauley, stretch four Kyle Wiltjer, and combo-forward Alex Poythress.  The last two are McDonald’s All-Americans. Noel is definitely a better big man prospect than Cauley and would have solidified some quality depth and versatility in John Calipari’s frontcourt.  Now Noel will focus on impressing at the combine.
