Jerry Evans scored 11 points and Olek Czyz added 10 as Nevada beat Prairie View A&M 60-47 Sunday. Deonte Burton scored nine points as the Wolf Pack (2-2) won the first-round Chicago Invitational game. Louis Munks scored a game-high 16 points for the Panthers (2-2). Nevada jumped out to an 11-0 lead as Prairie View A&M missed its first 10 shots. The Wolf Pack led 31-21 at halftime. Evans scored seven points in a span of just over three minutes in the second half as Nevada took a 48-28 lead with 10 minutes to play. Nevada will host Longwood in the second round of the Chicago Invitational while Prairie View A&M will be at BYU on Tuesday.

Bulldogs take command of WAC title race

After an improbable come-from-behind road victory on Nov. 19 over the favored Nevada Wolf Pack, the Bulldogs improved to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in Western Athletic Conference play. That is the same number of league losses as Nevada, which has a pair of WAC games remaining. If both teams win out, that would give La. Tech the league title with the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Wolf Pack.
